Application Of Thermoplastic Polyimide

Aromatic polyimides are mainly used in aerospace, marine, automotive, electrical and electronic industries. They have a long service life and high temperature resistance, which are necessary properties of thermoplastic polyimide.

Aromatic polyimide film is used for electrical insulation of motors, magnetic coils, aviation and missile wiring, and flat and flexible cables. Due to its inherent flame retardancy, aromatic polyimides can also be used as flame retardants for aircraft and marine applications. Because of their good radiation resistance, they can be used as valve seats, sealing eyes and thermal insulation materials in atomic power stations.

The compression and injection molded bearings made of aromatic polyimide can be widely used in jet engines, daily machinery and office equipment, and have good high temperature resistance, chemical resistance and lubricating oil resistance. Molded aromatic polyimide products can also be used for rotating blades, piston rings in compressors, non lubricated seals in automobiles, etc.

Composite materials made of thermoplastic polyimide are mainly used in the production of structural parts, followed by components on jet engines, military industry and aircraft.

Thermoplastic polyimide and advanced composites can also be used for anti-corrosion coating of metals. Dielectric coatings derived from aromatic polyimides are often used in semiconductor silicon wafers and high-density interconnection electronic equipment.
